Elena Fanna & L J Porter
Elena Fanna gained her experience in various architecture, engineering, and construction firms in Italy, Germany, and the United States: in particular, she was Project Architect for Gluck+ Architects, Project Manager for store planning at Louis Vuitton North America, and Director of store planning for FENDI North America. She received a Bachelor Degree in architecture in 2003 from Cooper Union where she taught architecture design. The projects and collaborations by Maria Elena and LJ have been published in diverse magazines, including: Architectural Digest, GA Houses, and Architecture and Urbanism. Studies and projects developed by students of the courses have been included in publications by Diana Agrest and Professor Diane Lewis.
L J Porter is a Registered Architect in New York and has worked in firms in Berlin, Kentucky, and in New York. Before co-founding PorterFanna Architecture, he worked as Project Architect for the design studio Gluck+ Architects and Resolution: 4 Architecture. He taught architecture at the Cornell University, at the University of Kentucky, and at the Pratt Institute. He received a Bachelor Degree in architecture in 1992 from Kent State University and a Master Degree in architecture from Cornell in 1997.

Anthology of the Now and Blueprint of the Future
In collaboration with Alex Sanchez and Brandon Sanchez
“TimeStills” begins as an investigation into the meaning of the time and of the urbanization lived by the individual and evolves into the documentation and merging of a global narrative. The cyanotype is used to create and assemble photograms recorded by participants all over the world, displayed here as a composite visual diary.
We believe this to be the first step of a longer-term project that unites the collective experiences of our global community in a visually poetic anthology of art and architecture and that it will continue to evolve itself over time.

“TimeStills” inizia come un’indagine sul significato del tempo e dell’inurbamento vissuto dall’individuo e si evolve nella documentazione e nella fusione di una narrazione globale. La cianotipia è utilizzata per creare e assemblare fotogrammi registrati dai partecipanti in tutto il mondo, visualizzati qui come un diario visivo composito.
Crediamo che questo sia il primo passo di un progetto a lungo termine che unisce le esperienze collettive della nostra comunità globale in un’antologia visivamente poetica di arte e architettura e che continuerà ad evolversi nel tempo.
