Clare Matz & Valentina Reolon
Videomaker, Writer, Performance Artist, Musician/Singer, Painter, Photographer, and
Filmmaker Clare Ann Matz was born in New York City and has lived and worked in Italy since the beginning of the 80s. Matz won the Filmmaker Festival - RAI First Prize with ‘Relax Girl, No voglio uccidere’, Milano, Italy (1982,) and the Città di Commacchio First Prize with ‘Energy’, Ferrara, Italy (1984.)
In New York City, Matz has worked with the Japanese Butoh theater group Poppo, performing at The Kitchen and CUANDO, and has been on tour in Europe with dance-theater groups Kripton and Teatro Valdoca in the early 80s. She hosted television programs for Videomusic - Italy and Super Chanel - London, interviewing and producing daily cultural shows on art, music,
photography with the major artists in these fields (1989 - 1995.) She also presented the Festival di San Remo 1989 for RAI 1 - International as well as directed the ‘Bande Sonore’ music program for Italia 1 and Canale 5 (2000-2002.)
Recently, Matz has specialized herself in productions and installations of video-art, including poetry, music, art and photography with PixPoems and MavMix productions, including the installation ‘Alchemical Journeys’ for Parma Capitale della Cultura (2021-2022) and numerous

Valentina Reolon Art Director, Graphic Designer, Organizer of Freelance Events, Valentina Madrugada Reolon studied at Istituto D'Arte Bruno Munari, Milano, Italy. She studied art direction at Istituto Superiore della Comunicazione, Milano. Reolon participated in ‘Visions’ for the Micha Van Hoecke festival of dance in Castiglioncello, Tuscany, Italy. She also participated in ‘Columbus the Moor’ for the Museum of Modern Art of Las Vegas, USA (1992) and in ‘Canti dall'Esilio d'Occidente’ for Teatro della Valdoca (1988).
Reolon was a Videomaker and Performance Director for the Festival of Asolo with ‘The Lonely
Ballet of Radio Active Leaks’ and ‘Energy’, dedicated to fluxus artist Joe Jones, with dancer
Evelyna Dann (2006.)

Reolon ha studiato presso l'Istituto D'Arte Bruno Munari, Milano, Italia. Ha studiato art direction presso l'Istituto Superiore della Comunicazione, Milano.
Reolon ha partecipato a ‘Visions’ per il Micha Van Hoecke festival di danza a Castiglioncello,

INPUT_OUTPUT
Inspired by the American Indian sweat lodges, low profile huts, typically dome-shaped where purification ceremonies are performed; as well as by the many basilica domes, the artists Clare Ann Matz and Valentina MadrugadaReolon grew up visiting around in Venice, Italy. The INPUT_OUTPUT dome wants to be a regenerative experience for the visitors, infusing their minds, body, and souls with visions, sounds, smells, and words.
The INPUT entrance (1.05 mt.) leads to a central hemispherical environment. The tunnel is black, with hanging "fringes", which have the function of disorienting and increasing the attention threshold of the entering public.
Inside the central igloo space, one’s view can range over the curved surfaces of the igloo dome where video of the 4 elements (air-water-fire-earth) and some inspiring keywords are projected. These images are also partially visible from the exterior of the dome, by people passing by and could generate an increased interest and desire to enter and experience what is happening inside.
The OUTPUT exit is another tunnel similar to the entrance one (1.5 m.) but opposite. An upside-down, very colorful world leads back to external reality.

Ispirata alle capanne sudatorie degli indiani d'America, capanne a basso profilo, tipicamente a cupola dove vengono eseguite cerimonie di purificazione; nonché alle numerose basiliche a cupola, le artiste Clare Ann Matz e Valentina Madrugada Reolonsono cresciute visitando Venezia e quello che le sta intorno. La cupola INPUT_OUTPUT vuole essere un'esperienza rigenerativa per i visitatori, infondendo le loro menti, corpo, e anima con visioni, suoni, odori e parole.
L'ingresso INGRESSO (1,05 mt.) conduce ad un ambiente centrale emisferico. Il tunnel è nero, con “frange” pendenti, che hanno la funzione di disorientare e aumentare la soglia di attenzione del pubblico che entra.
All’interno dello spazio centrale dell’igloo, la vista può spaziare sulle superfici curve della cupola dell’igloo dove vengono proiettati video dei 4 elementi (aria-acqua-fuoco-terra) e alcune parole chiave stimolanti. Queste immagini sono parzialmente visibili anche dall'esterno della cupola, dalle persone che passano e potrebbero generare un crescente interesse e desiderio di entrare e vivere ciò che accade all'interno.
L'uscita OUTPUT è un altro tunnel simile a quello d'ingresso (1,5 m.) ma opposto. Un mondo capovolto, molto colorato, riconduce alla realtà esterna.
