Lasana Sekou
Lasana M. Sekou (St. Martin, Caribbean,) is an author of over twenty books, including ‘Nativity’, ‘Brotherhood of the Spurs’, ‘The Salt Reaper’, and ‘Hurricane Protocol’. The poetry and the fictions of Sekou have been required reading at the Caribbean, North and South American, and European universities.
The recipient of international awards and honors (among them a James Michener Fellow and a knighthood from the Netherland) his writings have been published in journals and translated into
Spanish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Turkish, and Chinese. Sekou is an advocate for the independence of St. Martin, a territory of France and the Netherlands.
